Is 10k tx/s max? or there is more possibility?
I think 10k is just a rough estimate / a goal XBY team want to achieve. The real number could be larger once all nodes are registered.
I think it will hit BTC in future if every things will be well.
There are so much potential for XBY that there are no bounds.
I agree just soo much potential, and the fact that it can lead the way in scalability is a great positive for XBY specially after the BTC / BCH drama. Scalibility seems to be the new hot topic
It can scale all the way to the moon.
Would love to see a educated technical answer to this from Borz, or someone close.
Also depends on the number of STATICs. The more STATICs we will have the more it will scale.
Agreed with sanchoni, but if the planning goes according to plan it will hit in top ten list.
I think 10k€ in 2019...
I'm sure they'll find the limits during testing, perhaps participate in the testnet to see it in action
In the last testnet tests, one of the transactions was over 8 MB in size (compared with the 2 MB of Bitcoin). It had no issues with it. It didn't get bigger cause the tests finished.
For some reason, I thought I saw 20,000 tps mentioned somewhere, but I could be wrong... either way I think XBY has a lot of advantages over many other companies when it all comes to fruition.
Visa/Mastercard is the gold standard for real world application at 2500TPS, XBY is currently targeting 10k TPS so x5 faster. However XBY is very flexible as it has been designed so that so that as tech advances XBY can easily adapt and keep ahead of the curve
how do you get 10k tps when you have to have every node sign each block. It seems easy to say but maybe not so feasible.
Hi, noob question, what is that 10k TPS? or TPS means? Im not familiar with it. Thank you.
It is transactions per second, meaning the amount of transactions the blockchain can handle, the amount of 10.000 is really high as bitcoin is only able to do 6 a 7 per second.
My opinion is 5 USD next year
To the moooooooooooon!
This is something I've been trying to determine (I don't have solid technical background). Vitalik Buterin rather bluntly pointed to this a couple of weeks ago.
I have every wish for xby to succeed - my own skin is in the game - but my faith is dependent on facts. Would be nice if I can get clarification from someone informed about factual tps limits (not theoretical). Without much info about the testnet node numbers it's even harder to see. Will we have 3584 nodes? How many tx are actually being processed?
Vitalik Buterin (@VitalikButerin) tweeted at 10:33 PM on Mon, Dec 18, 2017:
So if someone tells you that they hooked up two nodes together and shows a screenshot of their blockchain processing 5000 tx/sec, do not believe that this will translate into reality.
