Always do your own research, this is just a tool to help you with it.

Full disclosure: I am invested into Xtrabytes as of this morning, so my bias is obvious, and so the following is only a simple database for anyone interested in doing their own research into XBY. It is a selection of usefull links I collected doing my research, so to make things easier I collected them all here. Please feel free to add or suggest any to be added. This is also in no way any kind of investment advice. Always invest at your own risk.

    What is a Blockchain-Free Cryptocurrency?

    Whitepaper abstract:

The "blockchain" distributed ledger pioneered by Bitcoin is effective at preventing double-spending, but inherently attracts (1) "user cartels" and (2) incompressible delays, as a result of linear verification and a winner-takes-all incentive lottery. We propose to forgo the “blocks” and “chain” entirely, and build a truly distributed ledger system based on a lean graph of cross-verifying transactions, which now become the main and only objects in the system. A fully distributed consensus mechanism, based on progressive proofs of work with predictable incentives, ensures rapid convergence even across a large network of unequal participants, who all get rewards working at their own pace. Graph-based affirmation fosters snappy response through automatic scaling, while application-agnostic design supports all modern cryptocurrency features such as multiple denominations, swaps, securitisation, scripting, smart contracts, etc. We prove theoretically, and experimentally verify, our proposal to show it achieves a crucial “convergence” property — meaning that any valid transaction entering the system will quickly become enshrined into the ancestry upon which all future transactions will rest.

    What is the Xtrabytes platform?

Non-technical whitepaper abstract (Technical whitepaper supposedly coming soon): Standard blockchain environments contain many centralization vulnerabilities, such as monolithic development, consensus methods, and coin monopolization. The XTRABYTES platform seeks to rectify these limitations by creating a truly decentralized cryptocurrency and applications platform. In doing so, XTRABYTES presents a next-generation blockchain solution capable of providing a diverse set of capabilities. A central objective in the development of the XTRABYTES platform was to create a secure digital currency without the centralized dependency on miners who participate in an energy intensive consensus algorithm required to solve blocks. This mechanism of solving computational problems concentrates the economic power in the hands of the few with the economic means to support the large up-front costs. The mining process itself bears substantial monetary costs due to the increasing mining difficulty and in turn, excessive energy consumption. This results in a massive carbon footprint and hardware junkyards. Additionally, combining the effects of large farming consortiums and daunting entry barriers has created a highly centralized economic base for digital currencies, such as Bitcoin. The XTRABYTES platform seeks to provide an alternative to wasteful and inefficient block mining technologies. With this new technology, we seek to redefine the concept of decentralization. The process of creating this new economic environment will be one of innovation and creativity, as we separate ourselves from existing structures. We have created an agnostic code platform to provide the ultimate environment for the creation of decentralized applications in addition to a digital currency, all secured by the most adaptable and modern encryption technologies.

    Github abstract:

XtraBYtes - The Proof of Signature Blockchain Database

XtraBYtes is a newly invented algorithm that does not require any traditional type of mining support, such as: POW or POS. We have created something called Proof of Signature which ensure that 100% of all blocks will be signed by the system when they occur. The blocks are signed by the network of Master Nodes after verifying the transactions in the block. There are a total of 650 million XBY and there will never be more. The XtraBYtes system is a shared database storage system that will never break like some systems because we do not rely on miners who could turn their rigs to other coins, leaving the network unable to verify and therefore breaking the blockchain, rendering it useless and thus all clients losing access to their stored files. This can never happen to XtraBYtes.

What is XFUEL? X-FUEL Simplified Explanation: (Long explanation link in source)

XFUEL is an internal development token for the XTRABYTES platform:

Primary Use - Paying Developers and Helpers

How can it be used - Optional 33% space inside STATIC deposits

Why would I buy it - For STATIC nodes. The XBY/XFUEL deposit capacity for the XTRABYTES STATIC network is more than 650 million XBY. Otherwise, you can buy and sell like any other coin on X-CHANGE at free market prices.

Where do I buy it - On the DEX P2P module X-CHANGE which will be available later, on the XTRABYTES platform.

Can I get some now - All workers, helpers and developers will be paid XFUEL. Maybe they will be willing to trade directly until the X-CHANGE is ready, inside the XFUEL Trading Room on Slack #xfueltrading. There is no other way to get XFUEL.

If I am paid XFUEL and I want a STATIC, can I use XFUEL - Yes, you can make a deposit wallet that has approx. 67% XBY and 33% XFUEL. (amounts below)

What if I don't have enough XFUEL for a STATIC - buy or work for more.

What if there are no XFUEL available and I want a STATIC today - Buy more XBY as you can still fill a STATIC with ONLY XBY.

Can I make a STATIC with ONLY XFUEL – No

Can I make a STATIC with only 20% XFUEL - No, it must be the fixed amount, as seen below.

How much will XFUEL cost - XFUEL is traded on free market pricing based on supply and demand.

Required deposits of STATIC nodes: Level 1 is: 500,000 XBY or 330,000 XBY + 170,000 XFUEL Level 2 is: 250,000 XBY or 170,000 XBY + 80,000 XFUEL Level 3 is: 125,000 XBY or 85,000 XBY + 40,000 XFUEL

    What are STATIC Nodes?

STATIC (Services Transactions and Trusted-in-Control) nodes form the backbone of the XTRABYTES network and play a crucial role in the consensus, security, and governance of the platform. STATIC node owners receive transaction fees and service fees for the DApp modules they opt-in to host. Security and PoSign consensus are insured using state-of-the-art encryption hash technology, requiring that every block is signed by the nodes.

    What are Modules?

Modules are extensions built onto the XBY core. They provide the use case for XTRABYTES in the form of DApps, whether they be decentralized storage, smart contracts, instant messaging and all conceivable applications in between. The XTRABYTES core and DICOM API will provide programmers with an easy-to-grasp platform for development.

DICOM, or Distributed Command Message language core application programming interface, is the API through which modules interact with the XTRABYTES core. The DICOM interface connects external modules to the core and provides a set of functions and procedures that allow the creation of applications which access the features and data of the XTRABYTES core and infrastructure. With the XTRABYTES DICOM, a module can be coded using many different popular programming languages like Visual Basic, Java, C++ and many more. This makes the XTRABYTES modules code-agnostic and opens up the creation of DApps to third-party developers.

    X-CHANGE: The Decentralized Cryptocurrency Exchange

X-CHANGE will be the XTRABYTES decentralized cryptocurrency exchange. Built directly into the wallet, X-CHANGE will allow users to have a trusted, decentralized, and totally secure p2p exchange at their fingertips. To provide proof-of-concept the first tradable pairing within X-CHANGE will be XBY/XFUEL. XFUEL is a complete PoSign coin created for the purposes of providing proof of concept and furthering development.

About the anonymity of the dev team:
