I just experienced a 6.4 earthquake two days ago. It wasn't anything like the 7.6 earthquake I experienced about 4 years ago, although in both cases, it feels like being on a boat. I'm just happy my house didn't come crumbling down.

My question is, why are there so many more earthquakes in 2017 than years past?

Maybe I should move off of the ring of fire...ha!

So glad we don't really get earthquakes in the UK very often and when we do they are always very small. Many moons ago I was in the US in Santa Monica and there was an fairly large earthquake one evening and that was pretty scary. Can't imagine what it must be like to go through things like that on a regular basis.

It kind of kills the excitement, desensitized in a way. Oh another earthquake, just grab onto something and hang out there for a while thinking about what information I still need to add to the forum. :)

yeah, a friend of mine gave the "all safe" alert on FB- thats apparently how I get to know about natural disasters lately. She was terrified.

About 5 years ago when I was still living in Hawaii we had a 4.0 there. Pretty crazy stuff going on all around id say.

I hear Hawaii is a pretty nice place to live. Were you on the main island?

Yeah, Oahu. Grew up on the east side of the island most my life if you're familiar.

I'm in Costa Rica. A lot of people I meet say CR is a lot like Hawaii.

I've heard that. Had a few friends from hawaii visit there.

Intel had a fab in CR for awhile I wanted to transfer to. I'm on the west coast now and I miss the island life a ton.

I lived in San Diego, San Francisco, and Portland. The West Coast is the best place to be in the continental US, IMO. But yeah, living in the tropics is way better. :)

I've also been in many earthquakes.. We get those small ones once per year here.
